Oddinote is an infinite nested canvas workspace designed to help creative minds organize complex ideas spatially. Unlike traditional linear note-taking apps, Oddinote allows you to embed boards, lists, columns, and sub-canvases recursively. You can double-click any board node to enter a whole new canvas, creating an infinite tree of ideas without cluttering your desktop.
Your data is stored 100% locally on your device. Oddinote does not send your notes, files, or canvas settings to any cloud servers. The desktop version uses Electron's local storage which is completely isolated on your machine, making it completely private and offline-first. You have absolute ownership and control over your workspaces.
Yes, Oddinote is completely free and open source under the Apache License 2.0. There are no paid subscriptions, locked premium features, or tracking systems. The entire source code is hosted on GitHub for anyone to audit, modify, or compile. We rely purely on community donations via Ko-fi to support ongoing development.
Oddinote automatically saves your canvases in real-time as you type or drag items. On the desktop app, you can export your entire project state as a portable JSON backup file with a single click. This backup can be imported on any other machine (either on the web demo or desktop version) to resume your work instantly.
Absolutely. Oddinote supports note items with markdown shortcuts, task checklists, image resizing with crop tools, calendar logs, and code editor containers. You can link nodes with connectors (arrows) to create visual maps, flowcharts, or storyboard paths for writing novels and designing video games.
